10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. (NIV)
Did you know God planned this caregiver role for you from the beginning? He has always known right where you would be today, in this very moment. That made me pause. All the mistakes, all the things I have done well, He knows my whole story. He knows your whole story.
Doesn’t knowing that make it easier to pray? It brings your relationship to God to a level of being one mind. As you follow after the person with the shaking hands who insists they can do things themselves, as you experience cleaning the kitchen floor for the second time today, God knows if you are going to keep a joyful heart. Or, are you going to get resentful and maybe angry.
Keeping in mind that God already knows what you will do may just make it easier to smile and thank the God of your creation in all things. That would make Him smile too,
Dearest God, how wonderful You know what I am doing. I can ask You, to show me what is the right thing to do. You have given me the gift of free will. I want to make the right choices now. Please work with me so that the one You have given into my care has the best outcome. In the name of the Son, Jesus, I pray, amen.
