23 And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ. (NKJV)
You are a servant of the Lord Christ. Pause for a moment and let that sink deep in your mind. Servant. That is your reason for getting up in the morning. A good start to the day, the Bible says, is to rejoice and be glad. Joy in serving the Lord will prepare you to do everything today heartily to Him. Your heart, and very soul, wrapped up in the jobs you need to accomplish.
Working for the Lord should be enough reason to be obedient. You are saved because He gave His life for you. But, the Bible offers you even more than salvation. Jesus said we are to store up for ourselves treasures in heaven. When you obey your calling to be a caregiver to your loved one you are going to be rewarded by the Lord. That reward will not come here and now, not before men, but when you meet Him face to face.
You will want to hear, “Well done, My good and faithful servant.” Jesus promises you the reward of an inheritance, treasure He has kept for you. Not because you are deserving, but because He loves you. He loves when you do your best work for Him.
Lord, it is an honor to serve You. Not to impress anyone, but because I want to be obedient with my heart and soul. Thank You for the reward You are preparing for me. Let today be all about You, to God’s glory. In Your name I pray, amen.
